How to use the ChartBrowser

The ChartBrowser needs a web-browser like Netscape (Vers. 4 or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (Vers. 4 or higher). Java Script must be activated.

TheChartBrowser has the following display features:

Latitude, Longitude 

The geographic position of the image center is shown. The format is degrees and decimal degrees ('-' sign denotes latitude South and/or longitude West).

Range

Shows the display range (distance from the center to the top or bottom of the display) in nautical miles. The desired value can be entered by the user or chosen from a pull- down menu. Zooming in with a 'rubber rectangle' is also possible.

Display

Display category can be selected here. The user can chose between 3 categories: base, standard or all, depending on the desired level of details. 

Size

The image size (in pixels) can be selected from a pull-down menu. 

View

Allows the user to display one or more of the following information overlays on the chart (use cursor + 'control' key for multiple selection):
 
Construction & Hazard Areas
Marine Events
Fuel Docks
Environmentally Sensitive Areas
Marinas
Sewer Pump-Outs
Boat Ramps
Sport Fishing
Terminals
Vessel Repair Yards

 

Prev

Displays the previous image (one step only).

Reset

Recalls the default start-up chart display.

Show

Displays the specified chart together with the selected additional information overlay/s.
